Our first open after Covid-19 restrictions to be played as 36 holes on a Saturday was held at Grobersdal Golf Club on 26 March 2022.
Morne Myburgh played a stunning level par round 1, closely followed by Ruan Roets +2, Ian Jacobs +2 and Luca Wasley +3. Luca achieved his first Hole in 1 on the fourth hole of Groblersdal Golf Club.
The boys made the turn to the afternoon field, and soon the contention for the tournament title became extremely tight. Morne Myburgh finished his second round with a 76, placing him +4 for the Groblersdal Open. Soon after, Ian Jacobs returned to the clubhouse with a magnificent -3 on the card for his second round. This boosted him to -1 for the tournament and firmly confirmed his victory. Well done to Morne Myburgh for being our top Limpopo finisher. Congratulations to Ian Jacobs, the 2022 Groblersdal Open Champion.
