We would like to thank all players who participated in our annual Limpopo Closed Championship at Polokwane Golf Club. The course and staff delivered a very well kept golf course as the players were challenged with tough, windy conditions for the Saturday afternoon field.
Riaan Piek did extremely well to lead the field with a level par 72 after the first day. Players who were also in contention were Andries Lombard(73), Chriso Steers(73) and Neil Rathmann(74).
The final day allowed for easier playing conditions. although pin positions were not easily accessible. Andries Lombard closed the deal with a 2 over par (74) and a total of 147, winning the tournament with 2 shots. Willie Opperman, Pieter Peens, Morne Myburgh and Neil Rathmann closed out with 149 over the 2 days.
A beautiful moment was shared when Andries Lombard and his son, Arno Lombard held trophies for their divisions. Andries winning the overall gross, and his son Arno for winning the Limpopo Closed Junior Division. Congratulations Lombard family!!
