It has been a long time coming. Morne Myburgh wins his first open event in Limpopo and did it in style in front of great friends and competition.
Sesambos Open is traditionally a 2-day event with some great camaraderie, spirit and food on the menu for the weekend typically. On arrival seeing the Limpopo river in full flow was a spectacle in its own and was maybe a bit prophetic in who the winner will be with new water flowing down.
Day 1 was out of the ordinary tough with huge gusts of wind and warm heat, making the players work for the position after day 1. With the drought that was very visible over the last four years, the rough was desert and very challenging to play out off. But once again as most Limpopo bush golf courses demand, the player with the most patience, straightest ball flight and a steady putter will contend at Sesambos Golf Club always.

The time came to through a pig on the spit and enjoy the evening on the Limpopo river. Some players were camping around a bush fire, others were comfortable eating and spending some time in the Clubhouse, and some even decided that fishing would be the better option to spend their time after a challenging round one.
Round 2 was no different with the wind picking up early in the morning. But Polokwane Golf Club member Morne Myburgh kept his cool turning in 38 and taking the lead by three shots with 9 holes to go over fellow Polokwane Golf Club member, Jannie Bronkhorst.
In the end it was Morne Myburgh who kept fighting off all the competition to win by one.
