After Round 1, Joshua Koekemoer led the field with a fantastic – 6 (66), with players like Ryan van der Klis (67) and Janko van der Merwe (69) closely in contention. Round 2 proved to play tough but fair conditions with 22 players finishing level or under par for the day. Round 2 results like 68 from Vian Jansen van Vuuren, 70 from Ryan van der Klis and 71 from Francois van der Walt set up an exciting finish for the final day.
It was Ryan van der Klis and Francois van der Walt who found themselves in a play -off for the Toshiba Open 2022 title after their 3rd rounds. Both players finished on -5 for the tournament as they challenged the 18th hole par 5 at Koro Creek Bushveld Golf Estate as the play off hole. Both players halved the first play off hole with pars, and it was Ryan van der Klis who clenched the victory on the second play off hole as he made his putt for eagle!!
